Opening the setup wizard

Note: If you do not have a previously created email account, Outlook Express will open the setup wizard automatically. If so, skip to step 3.

Click on Tools

Accounts.

Internet Accounts

To create a new email account, click Add.

Then select E-mail Account and click Next.

Display Name

Now enter the name that you wish to appear on your outgoing emails. You can use spaces and mixed case here. Click Next to proceed.

Email Address

Now enter your porchlight.ca email address. This is your user name@porchlight.ca.

Click Next to proceed.

Email Servers

First ensure the server type is set to POP3, then enter pop.porchlight.ca for the Incoming mail server field.

For the Outgoing e-mail server, enter mail.porchlight.ca.

Make sure Outgoing server requires authentication is checked and click Next to continue.

Login Information

Now fill in the username and password fields.

Click Next to continue.

Finished

This completes the setup wizard. Click Finish to finalize the procedure.

Note: if you are not connected to the Internet at this time, it is suggested that you place a checkmark in Do not download my email at this time before clicking Finish.
