Email Setup
Mozilla Thunderbird - Setup wizard
  1. Account Settings

    First open Mozilla Thunderbird.  Then click Tools Account Settings.




  2. Outgoing Server (SMTP)

    First highlight Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left.  Then enter mail.porchlight.ca for the Server Name.

    Check "Use name and password" and enter your porchlight.ca user name.



    Note: Thunderbird will ask you to supply the password the first time you send an email.


  3. Add Account

    Now click Add Account to load the Account Wizard.

    Select "Email account" and click Next.




  4. Identity

    Now enter your name and email address, then click Next to proceed.




  5. Server Information

    Select POP for the server type, then enter pop.porchlight.ca for the incoming server. Click Next to proceed.




  6. User Name

    Now enter your porchlight.ca user name and click Next.




  7. Account Name

    The account name should default to your email address.  This is fine. Click Next to proceed.




  8. Summary

    The final step should include a summary of the settings that you've entered.  After looking over them, click Finish to complete the account wizard.




  9. Finished

    Now click Ok to finalize the setup.
