Mac OS X (10.3 - 10.4) - Manual Setup
  1. Sytem Preferences

    Open the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.




  2. Network

    Click on the Network icon under the "Internet & Network" heading.




  3. PPP

    First ensure that Internal Modem is selected from the "Show" drop-down list, then switch to the PPP section.

    Type in porchlight.ca for the Service Provider.

    Type in your user name and password.

    Type in the ten digit dial-up access number for the city that you are currently local to.  These are listed in a table below.

  4. PPP Options

    Click PPP Options.

    Check the following:
    • Connect automatically when needed.
    • Disconnect when user logs out.

    Uncheck the following:
    • Prompt...to maintain connection.
    • Disconnect if idle...

    Click Ok to save the options.





  5. Finished

    Click the Apply Now button to finalize the settings.
