Mac OS X (10.0 - 10.1) - Manual Setup
  1. Sytem Preferences

    Open the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.





  2. Network

    Click on the Network icon.





  3. TCP/IP

    Select Internal Modem from the "Show" drop-down list.

    Select Using PPP from the "Configure" drop-down list.





  4. PPP

    Now switch to the PPP tab.

    Type in porchlight.ca for the Service Provider.

    Type in the ten digit dial-up access number for the city that you are currently local to.  These are listed in a table below.

    Type in your user name and password.

  5. PPP Options

    Click PPP Options.

    Check the following:
    • Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
    • Disconnect when user logs out.

    Uncheck the following:
    • Prompt...to maintain connection.
    • Disconnect if idle...

    Click Ok to save the options.





  6. Finished

    Click the Apply Now button to finalize the settings.
